I have a question about mobs

I'm trying to make it so when you right click an item in your inventory, it would summon a mob at your location. I try doing it without the location hoping that it would summon where the player was, but that wasn't the case. Please, if anyone has knowledge on this then please tell me.

Have a look inside of the iron bar in your hotbar while you're in dev mode. You'll find an item called "Game Values". Grab one and right-click it, you'll find several categories. I don't want to spoon-feed you the answer, so I'll hint you towards the location category (however, if you are stuck, feel free to reply).

Yeah I know about that, but I looked and there isn't anything there about taking the player's current position in game, the thing your talking about is I'm guessing the right clicking thing, but that isn't what i'm talking about.
