Detecting a player walking

I want to detect when a player walks for a long jump (sneak, move, then jump). However, I'm not entirely sure how to do this, since Vectors sound like the right way to do it, but I have no clue how to use them. If anyone can help me get an efficient, and small size way of doing this that doesn't require a rank up and running, I'd be grateful.
EDIT: nvm, I think I found a solution. If you think you have a better way, go ahead. I'll still be checking this for a while.

check if the players location is a small number away from their location 1 tick ago but that doesnt require an english major
