when I’m bored I refresh it every few hours for the day

yeah pretty much, I feel that it varies depending on what's happening in the community. Support and mod applications, punishment appeals, and event threads are the one of the biggest reasons, other than that it can be a small hotspot for persistent discussion on a topic if people are worried about it getting looked over
