hmm yes we need more nodes but what about:

Legacy Node - just a normal node, but it is still on patch 1.0! yes very old, older than me

Nostalgia Node - like Legacy Node, but the Minecraft Version is in Beta 1.8! yes cuz why not

Modded Node - just a regular node but you need a modpack to join! probs like a vanilla enhancing one or smth.

Future Node - just a regular node but it updates to the latest 1.17 snapshot!!

Combat Test Node - a regular node, but you're in a Combat Test snapshot

These are some pretty awesome ideas, unfortunately due to a number of hurdles need to cross these aren't viable. Firstly there will be a lot of increased CPU usage because of all the new nodes, a number of which I doubt will have the necessary player count to actually give a reason to use up those resources. Regarding the legacy idea, this has already been proposed but there aren't any saves of that older version. In case you're desperate though, there is this challenge that you can participate in.
