UPDATED 12/14. Updates in italics.

The inaugural DiamondFire Championship will be a competition showcasing players' skills across a variety of games on DiamondFire. Players will compete in teams of 4 across 4 different events. The competition will take place on December 19th and December 20th, the weekend after DiamondFire's 6-year anniversary. Read below for additional information!

The event will be broadcast live on twitch.tv/jeremaster104. It will take place across two days, Saturday December 19th and Sunday December 20th. Each day will begin at 9:00AM PST and will run no later than 12:00PM PST (3 hours per day).

Players will compete in teams of 4. Signups will be accepted in the #championship-signups channel of the official DiamondFire Discord. Due to time considerations, only 8 teams will be allowed to compete in the event. The 18 teams that are currently signed up will be allowed to compete in the event. If significantly more players are interested, teams may be required to meet certain qualifier conditions. More information will be released if this becomes necessary.

EVENT FORMATS:

BlockParty
Double-elimination bracket. Single-elimination bracket. Teams will compete head-to-head (4 players vs 4 players) in best-of-1 matches. A team wins a match when all members of the opposing team have fallen from the stage.

Seeding for the bracket will be determined by a free-for-all match in which 1 representative from each team will compete. Each team will choose their representative. The order in which those representatives fall will determine their team's respective seeds. For example, if "Team A" representative "Jeremaster" is the first to fall, "Team A" will be assigned the lowest seed. If "Team B" representative "Refriz" is the last one standing (winner of the free-for-all seeding match), "Team B" will be assigned the highest seed.

Note: 3rd-place matches will be played.

Minesweeper
All teams will play simultaneously on the same board. Half the teams will play in Group A. Then, the other half will play in Group B. All Group A players will compete on identical boards, and all Group B players will compete on identical boards (though the boards will not match the Group A boards). Teams will be ranked based on completion time, with lower times being better. There are no penalties for the first 2 mines hit, however each additional mine hit will result in a 5-minute penalty added to their time.

There will be a 35-minute time limit for each team.

Buddy Parkour
Teams will divide themselves into two pairs of players, "pair A" and "pair B". All pair As will play simultaneously in Group A. Then, all pair Bs will play simultaneously in Group B. Teams will be ranked based on their best completion time across both pairs. For this competition, players will be tasked with completing the first two worlds, starting from the beginning. Each Group will be allotted 25 30 minutes to complete their runs.

Dart n' Dodge
Double-elimination bracket. Single-elimination bracket. Teams will compete head-to-head (4 players vs 4 players) in best-of-1 matches. A team wins a match when all members of the opposing team have been eliminated via darts or falls.

Seeding for the bracket will be determined by a match in which 1 representative from each team will compete. Each team will choose their representative. The representatives will be randomly split into two teams. The order in which those representatives are eliminated (through darts or falls) will determine their team's respective seeds. For any representatives still remaining at the end of the game, seeding will be determined by how many players each representative darted. For example, say "[Team A] Jeremaster" and "[Team B] Refriz" are both alive at the end of the game. If "Jeremaster" darted two players, and Refriz darted only one player, then "Team A" would be assigned a higher seed than "Team B".

Note: 3rd-place matches will be played.

Here's an example of what the bracket might look like for BlockParty or Dart n' Dodge.
