DIAMONDFIRE COMMUNITY EVENTS PROGRAM GUIDELINES
LAST UPDATED:
4 January 2024

DiamondFire’s Community Events program will extend the ability to run events for all members of DiamondFire. “By the community, for the community!”

Thank you @Electrosolt, for helping rewrite the community events overview to its current version.

CONCEPT
This program is a way for DiamondFire community members to run events that are officially supported by DiamondFire Event Admins and are eligible for the following:
  • Announcements in official channels
  • Use of admin-owned plots where your events can be run
  • Distribution of Prize Tickets
GENERAL RULES
When hosting an event, you must not break the rules below.

If you do, you’ll be banned from participating in future community events and could receive further moderation-related punishments. As a general rule of thumb, please use common sense. If you think something would not be allowed, it probably isn't. If you are confused about whether something is allowed, please refer to CONTACT.

You may not:

(1) Rig the event.
  • Don’t intentionally rig or modify a plot or event in a way that provides an unfair advantage to someone participating in the event.
(2) Share insider knowledge.
  • Don’t give knowledge to certain participants that isn't publicly available and may give them an unfair advantage.
(3) Provide misleading information.
  • Don’t spread misleading info which could negatively hinder people participating in the event or give an advantage to people with experience in the game being used, if applicable.
(4) Break agreements with the admins.
  • Don’t break any conditions or agreements you make with the admins throughout your event's planning phase.
(5) Prevent people from participating without admin approval.
  • Please obtain admin approval before the event begins if certain people you believe should not participate.
(6) Falsely claim to be an officially supported community event.
  • Don’t try to claim you’re an official community event without going through the process, especially for malicious reasons.
(7) Break the server rules through your event.
  • Use your common sense here, don’t purposely break the server rules or include rule-breaking content in the event.
(8) Abuse loopholes in the rules.
  • Don’t try to break any of the above guidelines or work with referees to try and break them.

COMMUNITY EVENT CREATION
To propose an event, you can submit it to the Events team via the DiamondFire Community Events Proposal Form.

Before being submitted, you must have the following ready for your event:
  • A detailed concept and event outline.
  • If your event is based on a plot, it should ideally be finished—the events team will not make it for you.
  • You should have their approval if your event involves someone else’s plot.
After being submitted and if the proposal is accepted, the following will happen:

  • The admin team will contact you to work together to develop the event further.
  • You might be prompted to make certain changes to your event to improve it.
  • If your event involves plots with code, it will be scanned by events referees for malicious code, which could give players unfair advantages.
  • If the event involves a plot, it will be moved to the events node to prevent tampering before its release.
  • The event’s schedule will be decided. Sometimes, it might be run in several time slots to account for multiple time zones.
When it’s time to run your event:
  • Usually, at least two event referees will be present to manage the event while it’s running.
  • If applicable, the events node will be opened to the public so they can participate in the event.

EVENT REWARDS
Event rewards, such as prize tickets, will be distributed depending on the magnitude of the event in question.

For example, a 100x100 building competition will have higher rewards than a parkour race around spawn. To decide the rewards for an event, the event administrators and referee team will determine the prize pool during the planning phase.

If the event is significant enough in scale and effort, the host may receive prize tickets for creating the event for their hard work and commitment. They may share these prize tickets with others who helped develop the event, but the distribution must be decided before the event starts.

APPLICATIONS
To join our team, you must fill out an application form when application windows are announced, typically via Discord.

DISCLAIMER
Since the program is community-led, the number of events that take place may fluctuate, as well as their participation.

Additionally, if many events are proposed within close time of each other, it may take longer to process and review incoming proposals, and events may take longer to be released.

CONTACT US
You can contact the DiamondFire Event Admins (hibao and Maximization) or one of the Events Referees via Discord for more information or questions.
