Probably no plot will be as popular as Infinite Dungeons / Deathrun, it would be very impressive if it did. These plots have existed for years, and have a lot of replayability, therefore they can still be played today. Not so much Infinite Dungeons, though, I think it broke or something.
There's a lot of effortless plots (survivals) that get really popular, but usually they only last a week or so. Just do whatever you want. As long as you find it actually fun to play, then other people will to (probably). You can't get as big as Infinite Dungeons & Deathrun, but people have had really good plots (think Lawnmower Sim & Melon King) that got a lot of attention.
So uh How much effort needs to put in a DF plot for it to go viral? It highly depends. Make a gen survival in 10 minutes and you'll have a relatively popular game for 3 days. If you want it to be played long after its been released, make sure it can be replayed a lot without it getting boring, and that it's just fun to play in general.
idk man
