Well... if you have noble, then you can use player action -> display block. Though one problem is, is that when a player right clicks the block it disappears. To fix that you can make a ghast ride you, so that you can't right click anything.

Repeat adjacently should work (repeat adjacently repeats for each block that is next to another block. You can define the block loc you want to repeat adjacently of in the chest paramaters.)

Wouldn't that be like /locate <player>?
